Well I'm pleasantly surprised at how great this volume was!

This is my showtime read by this writer and and I can very hands say it won't be my terminal. Wonderfully written with potent characters, this incredibly hot, gritty, intense, sizzling, emotion-filled story kept me hooked from beginning to end.

This is my first read by this writer and and I tin very hands say it won't be my last. Wonderfully written with strong characters, this incredibly hot, gritty, intense, sizzling, emotion-filled story kept me hooked from beginning to stop.

I enjoyed the complex characters and plot evolution. Underlying motivations of the characters kept the story interesting. Vivian and McKenna's story is intense and heartbreaking at times, this couple couldn't seem to catch a suspension not just starting on a relationship but other things cropping upwardly to throw in the style. Shayne Ford's writing flows smoothly through the action scenes and plot twists and surprises.

My curiosity is piqued and I'm actually looking forward to the next book in this serial. four solid stars!

Wonderful book, I actually liked Mckenna and Vivian. I still accept some trouble understanding the plot, but as this is the kickoff book i think the plot would be revealed slowly in other volume(hopefully). I was expecting the plot to be more than stronger and bit original. It was an okay and quick read. Wonderful book, I really liked Mckenna and Vivian. I however have some problem agreement the plot, but equally this is the commencement book i recollect the plot would be revealed slowly in other book(hopefully). I was expecting the plot to exist more than stronger and bit original. It was an okay and quick read. I really loved Chad, I am a sucker for male MC being dark and alpha but simultaneously I similar my female MC to have backbone and stiff and contained and no shit mental attitude. I really found Vivian defective a backbone. I hope that changes in second book.

Shayne Ford is one of my top 5 authors. Her writing is e'er gripping and intense. This is darker then I'one thousand apply to by her but I loved every second. The way this story unfolds volition continue guessing and wanting more than. I'm already counting to the next ane!!!!

Ah, the usual steamy romance with no paved road of continuity of a novel.

The novel starts like this:

Nosotros encounter the primary heroine, a girl who has no home, no luxury or basic necessities to live a normal life.

Afterward almost 3 capacity we figure out that she'due south a prostitute.

I don't even know why the author didn't get-go with the fact that she is a prostitute from the beginning.

Next comes the bad guy but still our hero who coincidentally becomes her adjacent "client".

They have a steamy encounter, then they

Ah, the usual steamy romance with no paved road of continuity of a novel.

The novel starts like this:

We meet the primary heroine, a girl who has no home, no luxury or basic necessities to live a normal life.

After almost 3 capacity we figure out that she's a prostitute.

I don't even know why the author didn't start with the fact that she is a prostitute from the offset.

Next comes the bad guy merely even so our hero who coincidentally becomes her next "client".

They have a steamy run across, then they don't meet again for some time.

After a few weeks, he again shows up, "coincidentally" showing upwards and rescuing her from a group of goons (too his staff).

They again have some steaming chemical science, and then he again leaves her for a while.

Once more after a few weeks, he meets with her, and you know the drill.

But this time he sticks with her, showing her his soft side, pushing back his rough outside.

Merely you lot know what happens next?

Please practice guess!

HE LEAVES Again!

Brilliant.

Then when our main heroine shows upward for her job, gauge who'due south also there?

Guess!

That is absolutely correct, it's our main bad guy, the mysterious hero.

She gets shocked seeing him (because who wouldn't) and and then only damns him to hell as she goes out of his office (persuaded earlier past the hero's secretary).

This should exist the end right? I hateful he just pretty much ruined whatever they had right? Their human relationship should have been finished for now, and continued (possibly) in the next book.

But NO!

That is just not done.

Because he so comes back to her firm, they outset their sizzling scene and all is forgiven.

No explanation, no reasoning, no zip! Merely a steamy scene smooths out all the scattered bullcrap.

And then, from our chief heroine's past, we see a very old guy (even older than the hero himself) who comes chasing after her (because she chose to be with him to help her mother).

Darling, in that location are so many other ways to aid someone, other than selling yourself brusque.

But I digress.

And and then our hero bursts in and rescues the master gal and they alive somewhat of a happy ever-after.

YAY! (Not).

Why am I summarising?

Because that is literally most of the book.

Steamy scenes, hard pasts, and dark cars.

No logic, no explanation, no nothing.

And then is information technology worth reading information technology?

Nope.

Will I continue this serial?

Certainly not.

Just its something most Vivian she is feisty and immature and he wants her but refuses to feel anything for her until he does, but he has to exit town but cannot tell her if he volition be dorsum, he is going back to Europe he doesn't tell her why he is going back. Vivian has been miserable the final 3 months since he has been gone and she and her best friend Lila are at a corporate visit during Spring Intermission and Vivian was very taken with the female CEO that spoke to them, she said that the CM Inc, old CEO was in the building and she wanted him to speak with them. Vivian was shocked to see Mckenna in a suit and speaking to the group, she of course only knew him as Mckenna the blank-knuckles fighter and nothing more, and being shocked by seeing him she made a fool out of herself in front end of anybody. Hard times brought Vivian to New York. She has dreams but they come with a price and this evening, the price of her dreams have her walking the streets of New York. She is taking a gamble walking those dark alleys but it is the only fashion she can survive. At showtime I did not know where the story was going. Then it took a sudden shift and I had a glimpse, that's when I plant myself completely enthralled.

Difficult times brought Vivian to New York. She has dreams simply they come up with a toll and tonight, the price of her dreams accept her walking the streets of New York. She is taking a chance walking those dark alleys just it is the only way she can survive. At first I did not know where the story was going. So it took a sudden shift and I had a glimpse, that's when I institute myself completely enthralled.

The characters are dark, beautiful and oh then cleaved. Deep, soulful secrets brought them together and those secrets kept me tethered to the volume as I became more engaged with the story and intrigued by the backstory...because that is really what this is all virtually.

Frequently I constitute myself holding my jiff, gasping with the interaction between Vivian and McKenna ... questioning where they were going. What I discovered was a beautiful story wrapped in mystery and raw emotion. The author has presented her readers with spellbinding thriller that will have you pressed to your chair, panting and gritting your teeth...good thing it's cold outside because the heat gene will take you lifting the windows for a picayune "cool downwardly."

This is Shayne Ford doing what she does all-time...take us on a dark, mysterious journeying where animalism, fear and the possibility of dearest wrap you in a blanket of emotions.

I did non want it to end! And I am anxiously awaiting the next segment, knowing it volition be just every bit fabulous. I received an Advance Reader Copy for DARK MCKENNA, A Billionaire Dark Romance (SHADES OF LOVE SERIES, Book #1) written by Shayne Ford and voluntarily reviewed this volume. This writer certainly reigns in i of the corners of the battle ring of sexy-hot-male characters for me! This is an intriguing outset installment to her newest series, of characters I am really looking forrad to reading more nuances of. Nosotros get a greater sense of what McKenna is all nearly by the end of this book, likewise as just how Vivian handles some of his secrets. Loved it! I dear this Writer's stories of dark, twisted, cute love and characters. This is another smashing start to what I'm sure will exist another fabulous series. So emotional, eye wrenching and sexy. I dearest the H/h and their connexion. And then practiced!

This book reminded me of 50 Shades, merely with an edgier, broody, more than realistic man. McKenna was off the charts hot, his hidden secrets simply adding to his magnetism. I cannot wait for the next volume to this bewilderment!
